DJ_NUFC
I'm struggling to see a universe in which a John Carver team wins a football game in the Premiership. Let's hope he can resurrect the ghosts of the Blackburn 3-0 past.
Hanshithispantz
"I have worked with, and learnt from, the best manager that this football club has had in Sir Bobby Robson. I know what this Club means to this city and its people. I believe in my players and the staff I have around me. "I am confident that we can deliver exciting successful football and look forward with relish to my role as head coach of this great football club." he's a total cringe like. jdckelly
we're in trouble. He's shown nowt to think he can get a win let alone enough to keep us up. teams down there are improving (to some extent anyway) while we're getting worse by the game
Mike
John Carver, said: "This is a proud day for me. "I have worked with, and learnt from, the best manager that this football club has had in Sir Bobby Robson. I know what this Club means to this city and its people. I believe in my players and the staff I have around me. "I am confident that we can deliver exciting successful football and look forward with relish to my role as head coach of this great football club." I think I hate him more than Pardew already. Whoa now!
Nobody
So they've spent four weeks talking to managers and realised that no one wants to come in and work for a pittance and not being allowed to be too successful. Shocking Or they've spent 4 weeks making it appear as if they were trying to get a manager in, all the time knowing that Carver would be the man. That was me trying to be positive mate

Andymc1
I've just been on TalkSport - if anyone was listening I was the one who read out the definition of Sport (an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment). Then stated we don't try to compete and we're certainly not entertaining.
toontownman
Disgusting move which comes as no surprise from disgusting upper management. No surprises here. See everyone in the championship next year. This year is done.

Geordie Ahmed
So their excuse for now is there is no one decent available, wonder what excuse they will come up with the summer
Deuce
He seems the knuckle-scraping type, dragging his missus home by the hair every night. Nowt to like about this bloke at all.

Mole_Toonfan
A bad outcome all round, because it’s clear from the way it’s been handled that the Board were hoping not to appoint Carver. I’m not sure how well he’s going to be able to motivate the team. Still, it was always going to be difficult to get the best possible long-term candidate half way through the season. This idea of hounding Pardew out of his job as soon as possible looks even worse than it did at the time. I'm sorry, but when did it become a thing to wait until the summer for a new manager? With it being difficult mid-season? Never heard of this before. Of course it's more difficult man ffs, no self respecting club would let their manager go especially if they are contending for something in a middle of a season. It's why Spurs went with Sherwood initially, Mourinho to Chelsea in the summer and why most big managerial moves when they are actually contracted to a club happen in the summer. How many big managerial changes do you see in the summer compared to the season? Seriously have a word with yourself. This is going to look like I'm defending the club, but I'm really not they have fucked up real bad for the umpteenth time and it's a disgrace but try to be a tiny little bit level headed for once. midds
He's got the job purely because he was born in the right city - that's it. There's absolutely nothing else on his CV to suggest he's remotely even worth a shot at a PL job. He's managed briefly at lower level and largely done a shit job. Hope he gets hounded out, the fat prick.
nufc4eva
This is just like when Chelsea got Benitez until the end of the season, then got Mourinho in. I love the positivity
Chicane
Pardew's entertainers are gonna stuff us 5-0 and he and JC will go out for a pint afterwards. Good times ahead.
