Asked if Cabaye’s exit had forced the club to recalibrate their ambitions for the remainder of the season, Pardew said: “It’s fair to say the transfer made it harder to qualify for Europe – and I don’t think anyone would disagree with that – because we couldn’t replace him. But that doesn’t mean to say we can’t replace him in the summer.

“We know we have got good players here, but we do need that controller of the ball, that manoeuvrer, that clever player, and we will get one in the summer, for sure.”

Pardspeak lol. Sounds like something from the sequel to 1984... 2014 a place where Mike Ashley controls the world Big Brother style.

Can we trust anything this fucker says anymore. If this Numpty has any say in transfers we may pick up a couple of West Ham players or former West Ham players.

Aye, the guy's absolutely gagging to be in Europe like. We're 5 points off with only 30 left to play for; the chase is well and truly over. :(

It is like, tbf to the cunt.

We're eight points off tbf. Seventh won't give Europe with the teams in the FA Cup semis being who they are.

Alan Pardew has confirmed Newcastle United's interest in Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

''I think he is a player a lot of clubs will be looking at in the summer. I don't think Everton will get a free run at him''

More loans :sweetjesus:

Mourinho should just start him instead.

Nah he's not good enough, but in any case they will buy someone better.

Not good enough for what?  He's the best striker they currently have anyway.

Of course he's good enough. Eto'o and Torres have been caretakers, not relied upon to carry the attack. Lukaku could at least do the same and provide a more physical presence. In addition to being younger and having far more upside.
