I won’t be watching anything thank fuck , hope I can hold out on that promise, I’ve had this club in my heart for 52 years . Christ that's gonna be hard. TRon
After spending so long in the takeover thread I'd almost forgotten that Bruce is still manager. Next season's actually going to be hilarious Yeah should be good for a laugh if nothing else. Who knows, maybe he'll do an 'Ok job' again next time round. TRon
Bruce has that commitment from this current group at Newcastle - the core of British players that Rafa Benitez brought to the club have been crucial - and he will look to build on that in the transfer market this summer as Eric Black, his former assistant at Birmingham, Wigan and Sunderland, explains. "It's the group thing that he brings and that's why he manages to get the best out of a group of players," he told ChronicleLive. "They all have to be heading in the same direction. We had various times where we thought we had a little bit more money, certainly at Birmingham, but what you do is you dilute the work ethic and the camaraderie within the squad when you bring 'star players' in. Cheap hard working British players to do the job next season then. We will be the Burnley of the north east, which will probably be quietly approved a decent percentage of our fan base. KaKa
Ah, of course, because all 'star players' (whatever that means) lack work ethic and camaraderie. Amazing insight
Pilko
Star players are what disunite, relegate and eventually liquidate football clubs.

Think that underrates Burnley significantly TBH, they're a well-run club with a clear philosophy top to bottom.

Yorkie
The very best players are famous of course for having poor work ethic and poor team spirit. That's why they're star players. Utter PFM riddled guff.

TRon
Ah, of course, because all 'star players' (whatever that means) lack work ethic and camaraderie. Amazing insight He knows he won't be given the money to sign star players, so he's basically talking up the poundshop value players he'll have to recruit instead. He's doing the job he's paid for I suppose.
toontownman
Several reports of what we already know. No big spending and only trying to source out loans or cheap/free transfers. Also the shortlist Bruce has drawn up likely doesnt align with what the club hierarchy have interest in spending. Can see Bruce tripping into the boardroom to complain and just getting repeatedly slapped and humiliated. "so, what you going to do about it? *slap* do something *slap* anything? *slap* thought not. Now get out of my office.
huss9
hope he resigns in protest. he's got nowt to lose. stay and he's got a shit squad and will have to rely on ASM to help us not get relegated. resign and he'll be a hero in some people's eyes - "brilliant" first season and then completely let down by Ashley. why would anyone want to stay ffs?
