HaydnNUFC
Clearly shown how up to it he is for me. One worry or concern about him as a manager is how he'd fare tactically against top sides and managers, especially as we gradually improve. Also, on the questions he gets asked about KSA all the time, can't say I'm a fan of constantly making him answer those questions. Does Guardiola always get asked similar shit about the UAE? I understand they need to be asked btw.

Kanj
Wow. Eddie said to NUFC tv that willock and shelvey were determined to be out last night. So they had to change system and tactics via video presentation to the lads literally in the last 24 hours.
Mountain
How on Earth has Howe managed to stay calm and positive in the post match interviews. He didn't even mention that we got robbed. Amazing show of class.
Kid Icarus
I'd have been impressed with that performance with Joelinton, ASM, Shelvey, Fraser, and Willock playing. The fact he got that performance out of the players out there and we were absolutely robbed is incredible really.
Abacus
I started out a bit underwhelmed by this appointment. Now I think he needs a statue. Really so chuffed with what he has done so far. Great performance and should have been at least a point today - I'm excited to see what this guy can do next
Mattoon
He's clearly been doing his homework and learned a lot in his hiatus and I'm impressed, I think if we'd have got Howe straight out of his last job it would't have been as impressive. I think he has the capability to be the real deal, to get a performance like that out of, what looked like on paper, a no hope situation was extremely impressive. I understand they need to be asked btw. I don’t think he does, but I also don’t pay attention to any Pep press conferences. Imo football managers are there to talk about football and the match. They are not politicians. They are within their rights to only speak about football when they are doing that job. Sure the press can ask any question they want to. If the managers want to speak about it, have something to say about it - speak. But to expect someone to respond to you on something that isn’t their remit rubs me the wrong way. But unlike what appears to be some on here, I don’t wake up wondering what Eddie Howe, Thomas Tuchel or Pep think about the politics in their ownerships’ countries. I care more about what’s actually happening and rather hear experts or people who’ve lived that reality to speak on those matters. id rather hear those managers talk for hours on their football philosophy or what they saw in a match and what changes they made and why. He had to change system last night! That’s less than 24 hours to implement a new tactical gameplan.
80
https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/whites-delight-at-signing-new-deal/ Lot of insight from this kid on the impact Howe is having at the club, down among the youth ranks too.

54
"It’s not uncomfortable to be asked, I understand you need to ask. But it’s my right to answer how I feel is right for myself and for NUFC. At the moment it's to give you as much as I can without going into an area that's not best for me to go into. If I do, the team may suffer." I was a footballer with a slight difference. I got on the team bus aged 19 with a copy of The Times under my arm. I got strange looks from my teammates. But I came from a family where things were pushed towards me. I was interested in world politics at that stage. But having time on my hands as a football manager is difficult, so it's gone out my life slightly. I will have to dedicate more time to it, though. Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm job obsessed - It's an understatement actually. In the modern world part of my job is to know what's going on around the world and I'm reading up on that." I respect Gary Neville & Jamie Carragher’s opinion and I get on well with them. I’ve no issue with that they said. But ultimately it's my right to say what I need to say. Before I took the job I looked at it as the club, the players, the support base. You then meet the people behind the scenes - Amanda, Mehrdad, Yasir - brilliant people who I've got a good relationship with. A lot of trust has been built between us." The club of course is owned by people who the Premier League allowed to own a football club. So from my side that's as far as it went and I've reviewed my decision based on the people I've met. I'm very proud to represent this football club, I understand questions have to be asked, I have no problem with that. But my specialist subject is football. As soon as I deviate from that into an area I don’t feel qualified to have an opinion I get into dangerous ground. I'm best sticking to a preparing a team for Everton." Kid Icarus
I've probably never respected him more for saying this tbh: Quote "I understand questions have to be asked, I have no problem with that. But my specialist subject is football. As soon as I deviate from that into an area I don’t feel qualified to have an opinion I get into dangerous ground. I'm best sticking to a preparing a team for Everton." The same public figures who rightly bemoan the lack of respect we give to experts in society are still more than happy to weigh in and push their opinions on really heavy subjects they aren't just not experts on, but actually know very little about. Someone essentially saying they don't know enough about something so shouldn't comment on it publically is music to my ears tbh. WarrenBartonCentrePartin
I'd be interested to see how many fans of other clubs demanding he answers the question also believe that Marcus Rashford, Gary Lineker and Gary Neville are "woke" and regularly post tweets about how much they need to stick to football. Yorkie
I don't really buy his pleading ignorance but I think he's answered that as well as he could do really. Everyone connected to the club - fan or employee - can take one of two positions: A, we're basically business as usual, it's a football club and I'll treat it as such. Or B, it's a football club but it has been fundamentally tarnished by it's connection to an abhorrent regime and I don't want to be associated with it for that reason. Howe, like the vast majority of supporters from what I can see, has taken option A.
