Transfer rumours

Maybe I'm just programmed to think of it like this, but having all the money in the world and spunking it on outsourcing to some private 'specialist' recruitment firm who almost certainly aren't the best option available is about as Tory as it gets.

Man City used them to find most of their senior staff

Saw a transfer rumour that we were looking at Florian Grillitsch of Hoffenheim. I have no idea whether he's any good, but the thing that caught my eye is that he regularly starts for them as either a CB or DM.

For me, a class DM should be our main priority followed closely by a new CB. Assuming that Grillitsch isn't Claude Makelele, a bersatile player like that would be a really useful January purchase. As a second DM (replacing Hayden) and as a second/third CB. Assuming again that we are buying at least one other CB and DM.

 What? Every corporation under the sun uses consultants. We have TWO Directors who have any sort of business acumen, how the fuck are they supposed to do everything overnight?

No they don't. Overnight? Howeh, it's been 2 and a half months.

If they're the right company to bring in, have experience with other clubs, or specialise in sport/football, absolutely fair enough though. I think I'm just programmed to read consultant and shudder because in my own experience they've always been unbelievably inenpt The Apprentice wankers.

there’s a list on roles they’ve filled on their site if you’re interested?

Mings is crap like.

Tarkowski, Ake and Trippier would be an unbelievable window. Chuck in a DM and a backup striker and we’d be reet.

I'm not particularly good at judging defenders, but Mings, Tarkowski & Lascelles all seem of similar standard to me (& all of similar age)? Don't understand what people see in Tarkowski that would imply he's an immediate improvement upon the defenders we already have.

Lascelles was solid under Rafa, playing in a well drilled defensive system similar to what Tarkowski does under Dyche. We don't know how he would cope with being more exposed in a more attacking system.

Don’t even think Villa fans particularly rate him.

Mings is alright but always not too far from a clanger.

However, he makes up a lot of that by being a born leader.

Konsa is easily our best defender. Not even close.
