nufc4eva
Yeah they aren't going to improve a rival surely. We would be best bet for them as we will need to play teams around them
Nine
Man United will be reluctant to let him go to West Ham but that will be his preferred move, best case scenario is we beat West Ham’s offer and Lingard is happy enough to come here. I think this really could be a key signing not just until May but he could play a huge role for us for the next 2/3 seasons. If he has a good 6 months here now he will be very likely to stay permanently imo.

Can't see their board sanctioning a move to them considering they're direct rivals in league this season. We're the only show in town if he's allowed to leave, imo. AyeDubbleYoo
Makes sense for Man Utd to get whatever money they can if he's not going to sign for anyone permanently. Otherwise it's just wait and lose him for free.
madras
Didn't Ralf give e his blessing weeks ago ? It's the club management that have held it up with their demands.
McCormick
It’s down to whether they would prefer us to stay up or if they would prefer to risk losing out on a CL place. Chances are they just keep him.

They absolutely want us relegated.

I get that there's a relegation and an NUFC premium but the price they were asking was beyond even that.
gdm
We should have wrapped this up. He’d transform our attacking options.

SUPERTOON
Fuck it I would pay the 12 million, we desperately need him.
STM
We've always been in for Lingard and Lingard would surely come but that doesn't change the issue.

I think short term thinking regarding a Champions League place will trump any qualms about loaning to us.

toontownman
Bit of panic with Ekitike likely falling through should see us up our bid. Depends whether they crumble for west ham also paying over the odds.
nemtizz
Lingard and Ekitike would be unreal.
LRD
Rangnick has always been willing to let him leave. It's the board that are making big demands for a 5-month loan. Hopefully they are willing to be more reasonable so it's a win-win for all parties.
AJ9
Can’t imagine they would want to give him to West Ham like, but if they did, then would expect him to end up there if he had a choice of the two.
