Just me, but I think Liverpool are fucked without another forward. Diaz, Nunez, Jota, and Trent is about 40 goals in all comps. Trent and Robertson are #1 and #2 in the PL era list of assists by defenders. They also have emerging weakness at CB.

They need Isak badly and will be fucked if we do not sell. Fuck it, keep him, and get Vardy in if Isak won't play. Use every interview to highlight how Vardy played through the minor leagues and is not some mega entitled cunt who's been tapped up by equalled entitled cunts who tell anyone stupid enough to listen that they are a "special club".

Why do people keep suggesting we sign Vardy. He's 38 and whilst a good finisher his pace was one of his main attributes.

If our owners weren't fucking shit.

They offer to buy Vini from Madrid for €200M if Madrid bid for Isak. Madrid offer the money for Isak, Mbappe moves LW and Isak goes to Madrid, everyone wins.

I'm torn on whether I want the club to respond. Would be good to see the club just purely respond to his claims with the facts (if of course he is bending the truth as we think) but at the same time one slight misstep in our statement could open us up. Saying nothing won't exactly satisfy the likes of us, but who cares, we're "winning" in the sense that we're not bowing to secret scouse Romano & friends.

One thing that seems clear is that Isak’s side are really desperate, whereas the club haven’t even flinched. Isak’s side is losing this.

They might be losing be we certainly aren’t winning

All said and done, there’s nowt new in there. He’s poking the bear, wanting a reaction he can feed off. Ignore him, nowts changed, although Wissa might now be 70M with Andy Carroll coming in at 25M.

Isak has played a shocker.

As much as he and his agent are cunts Liverpool are absolutely behind this too. Pretty naive to think we’d accept a cut price fee because he publicly wants out

Have to be wary of future legal action as well I suppose, have to be clear that it’s Isak’s decision not to do what his contract requires him and he’s welcome back when he decides to work again.

You know why we have contracts, Alex? Because claims over promises and what was said and wasn't said isn't worth shit.

Just playing devils advocate a bit here, but verbal agreements are binding. Doesn't matter if the person making the verbal agreement on behalf of the club isn't at the club anymore.

I can understand his dissapointment (although I don't feel sorry financially for someone making what he is making regardless of what his peers do), but is it really worth potentially wrecking your entire career for it? What club wants to offer him the wage he can demand now, here or elsewhere, if he hasn't played a competitive match for 3 years?

Disagree that Newcastle should be making statements in response. It achieves nothing and is exactly what he and Liverpool want.

I think it depends. Anything that completely smashes the ongoing rhetoric is fine by me.

I'm absolutely convinced they've been coaching him from the background from the start

And like the daft knacker he is he has went along with it

What he doesn't realise is that he is the one that has most to lose, not Liverpool and not us

BBC Sport understands Isak believed he would be allowed to leave Newcastle if a big club came in for him and offered the right price.

Neither has happened.
