He was constantly marked by two, and sometimes three players with no support. Reminded me of the "bit of magic"-Pardew days where wingers are just expected to walk the ball into the net on their own. Yes he'll come up with the odd moment but I think we will get frustrated with his technique at times, Iike today. Barnes had no impact on the other side either. He wasn’t signed to break down a low block though, but he adds a lot to plan A. Daft to use that game as a reason why he’s a pointless signing, by the end of the season you’ll have changed your mind. It's not that we didn't just have a striker today, we also had no midfield box attackers or wingers on the other side that like to make runs in either.
