Fuck that with this lad. Just get down that outside. Never seen pace like it over 5/10 yards.

Did great against the highest level of opposition. Shame about out mess of a striker situation but we'll see him link with Wissa and big Nick eventually. Wissa would make more of yesterday's chances than Gordon and Barnes did.

He must be feeling frustrated, should be on around 4 assists already. I feel him and Wissa will link up well.

Guy thought he would be putting them on a plate for Isak, every minute he’s played it’s been for Gordon, Osula or no-one up front.

This is where just looking at raw stats can be misleading. For an hour, Elanga was excellent and put in some brilliant balls, but on paper has nothing to show for it.

 

Murphy came on, was fairly average, but one of his balls resulted in an assist for him.

 

I think overall, we're going to eventually get more with Elanga who is just the superior footballer. Murphy could become a handy "finisher" type player getting 15-30 minutes a game, though.

Feel sorry for him. Pretty sure he could have had 3-4 assists already this season, but his stats are getting mangled by our lack of a decent forward up front.

He should be asking Gordon for half of his scoring bonus after serving up that peach of a chance for him in the 1st half

Definitely feel for him. Donkey finishing by our stand in strikers has cost him being top of the assists table.

Thought he was our best player in the time he was on. Incredibly threatening, had their LB on toast consistently.

Agree what someone said in match thread about Elanga too, our players need to realise how rapid he is and play the ball earlier. When it's Murphy, they're conditioned more to play to his feet or not so often into open space as whilst he is quick, it's not rapid quick and Murphy skill is to shift and cross. Times yesterday we could have slipped Elanga through and let him put the after burners on, so hopefully the more he starts, we realise that's an option to use.

He's fantastic but needs to trust himself more.

 

Either that he's got the beating of his man for pace so just knock it by them, or not always looking for the cross but feeling ok to cut in and have a go.

I noticed he sometimes has to stop his runs with how we aren't releasing him early enough.

Started his career for us playing like an absloute donkey, runs kicking the ball between right and left like he can play with both feet but he can't do anything useful with either.

 

There is a player there but its worrying just how lacking he is in the final third.

I like Elanga think he should be starting every game to get used to our system.
