Downie sounds less confident about it

Probably remembers us signing Owen. Not getting much excitement over this TBH. Not faulting the ambition of the club though.

The way this has played out, it really does feel like the club deciding "fuck everything, we are fed up and we're signing a player no matter how much it costs."

Which feels like a humongous red flag but I'm as desperate as everyone else to see some fireworks so I choose to ignore it.

That's just cost Sir Jimmy another £4k to keep them out there, another dinner lady lost her job for that.

Doubt he cares, with the amount of rats they have they'll be fine.

The obvious added bonus in this, is that while our transfer window has been awful, the idea that we may have Man Uniteds pants pulled down, somewhat makes me feel better.

If this lad reaches his potential he'll be worth double that and who better to get him to reach his potential than Eddie.

I agree but I suppose we were damned either way. Obviously we don't want to sell Isak and be left with nothing. But say we sign Sesko and Liverpool want to drive a hard bargain and sense that we need to make a sale, they could easily drag us out until the end of the summer, tying our hands in the transfer market, perhaps even holding off until next year and leaving us with an imbalanced squad and an unhappy player on our hands.

   or.....and hear me out here....we could just spend what we need to spend and sell Isak next summer to balance the books to anyone else but the scouse bin dipping scum, we dont have to make the money first, we dont have a cash flow problem.

Starting to feel like everyone is thriving on the negativity like

If we sign Sesko, you will see a fair bit more positivity around the place. Even with Isak saga going on, Elanga, Ramsdale and Sesko is at least getting somewhere.

Then we sell another one of our prized assets, or we take the hit on a points deduction. Jezus, we cannot fear of the worst case scenario let dictate our strategy if we are to make inroads into catching up with these teams that think they can have a free run at our best players by turning their heads promising salaries we aren't allowed to offer.

Agreed, we need to br proactive not reactive. Why not? We have the opportunity to have of the most coveted striker in world football.

Why not see where that takes us this season and revisit the Isak question next summer with 2 years left on his contract. So what if we get 100 mil instead of 130 million...

I would agree with you, but this is by all accounts the same sort of fee we bid on for Ekitike, so clearly there is some lined up thinking going on.

The bonus is we'll have also got the better player - give me Sesko over Cunha and Mbeumo any day of the week - the potential upside is huge.

Plus, at the end of the season the list of prospective buyers grows substantially. Fuck Livahpoo

Explain that please

every reporter and journalist has said explicitly or intimated Šeško is Isak’s replacement.

we are continuing to talk to Brentford about Wissa as Wilson’s replacement

Liverpool can and will afford him when Nunez is sold.

Most importantly we need a centre half and a midfielder we likely can’t afford €90 euros on a Wilson replacement. We are using the Isak money is my theory

he could will turn round and sign a new contract but I doubt it and I think that’s why the club are going so hard at trying to bring Šeško in

Im not going to lie. I think Cunha and Mbeumo are fantastic signings but so would Elanga and Sesko, with the added advantage that they are younger and cheaper.

They are already setting their narrative out that the money is soo much for Šeško he’s not worth that and that’s only reason he’s (potentially) going to us
