This doesn't improve the team or the squad at all. Not against loans, I've been advocating them all summer as a way to plug the gaps in the squad but the GK position is different. We didn't need more depth we needed a significant upgrade to Pope or divert funds to other positions and stick with Pope for this season. To bring in Ramsdale and move Pope to the bench (or have them battle for the number 1) makes zero sense to me. He's not an upgrade and he doesn't improve us. Each week these fuckers find a new way to make a complete horse's arse of things off the field, it's beyond embarrassing now

100% - it's why I think it cannot be true.  Just makes zero sense.  Gotta be a smoke screen for our real target - Dibling.  At least I am praying it is.

As long as it’s an option to sign rather than an obligation then I don’t mind. He’s a good but unspectacular PL keeper but a little emotionally unstable.

If it tides us over this season until we sort out the CEO, DoF and scouting out and improves this mess of transfer of a transfer window I won’t complain.

No better than pope

He’s played for England through all age groups, played 37 games for Howe’s Bournemouth, and played 78 times for Arsenal, plus he’s six years younger. That’s it; that’s all I have got.

Who are "these fuckers"? Eddie and Andy Howe and Nickson seem to be the only 3 who have anything to do with anything transfer related currently?

He was in the PL team of the season a few seasons ago. Doesn’t feel like he went through a precipitous drop off in form either, just got unlucky that he was the odd man out at Arsenal and there were no good options last summer.

Not saying I love this transfer, but I think some of the criticism is a bit OTT. Particularly in light of Pope’s injury record and the fact Dubs has clearly been promised a move away.

Whoever are running the place off the field. It's vague and sparse atm that I'm not sure who's doing what or who's stepping in for someone else. I can't be any more specific than 'these fuckers' other than to include the word 'incompetent' too

Seems abit harsh to call Eddie Howe embarrassing that's all

He’s an upgrade on Dubraka who seemingly will be sold. Pope and Ramsdale fighting for for the number 1 spot. In that respect, it absolutely is an upgrade.

My hope it that’s its a short stop gap while we put an actual out and out number 1 on hold until next Summer when Pope will leave.

Thats the only way I can make sense of it.

It’s a loan with an option. It is not worth getting upset about. He will do just fine and plug a gap for now.

What gap? We have plenty of shit keepers on the books. 😂

If he's part of the team that's failed miserably in the transfer market this summer then fair game in that respect. He's a brilliant football manager but the recruitment team, as a collective, has failed to match what Howe and the players achieved on the field last season. As I've said I've got no idea how much of a role each part of the mystery team plays or who needs to carry the can for this summer but, as a collective team, it's been a hideous, embarrassing and sobering summer. They've humiliated themselves imo
