I've never had a problem with Ramsdale. Think he's a better all-rounder than Pope, but not the leap I'd have liked us to make. I think he's the same level as Trafford, but Trafford has years to develop a better game, whereas I think Ramsdale has stalled and not progressed, but 27 is still young for a keeper.

It’s not even Ramsdale that aggravates me, he was a prospect at one point and if Howe rates him and wants to give him a go then fair enough. My problem is we seem to be purposely cutting ourselves off from most of the young talent in Europe. With our transfer policy we won’t get the next Salah, De Bruyne, or Saliba, our competitors will.

We aren’t even really going for any young talent.  For an explosive winger Elanga isn’t ‘young’.

We should get players with lots of room for natural development. We are only targeting players that can be Howe’d which I guess is similar but is still harder to sell on

Reading Arsenal fans opinions on him, they seem to rate his shot-stopping and say he has talismanic qualities/leadership. I’ll take that, tbf, even a few Saints saying he was largely quality for them last season.

Not surprised. They liked him at Arsenal.

I was going to say I was surprised by the reaction on here to the news, but then again I'm not really [emoji38]

Think he was silly to join the clubs he did after Arsenal, but Southgate had told him he had to be playing to keep his England place and I think he rushed things. Should have waited for the right move.

Loan with an option, don’t see the fuss. If he does well, we get him permanently, if not, we can send him back and reevaluate our targets in 12 months.

decent move considering the above.

That Game 6 still pisses me off. Although Games 4 and 5 don't exactly sit well in the memory either. Make Schilling field the effing ball...

I didn't realize I was still mad until I started typing it out. Bunt ONE God damn time test that ketchup stain ffs.

Honestly we do need some level headed views to be posted on here which might align us to Howe's thinking. What surprises me most is how it's Eddie's biggest fans who kick off the most about these moves.

Absolutely no problem if it’s a loan with an option. Let our coaches work with him and have a look over 12 months, as part of succession planning for Pope. We would be buying the dip, and there may be good upside.

Fully expect at least one gk to be moved on if this progresses.

100% sensible business considering where we are.

Same. I wouldn’t be against this as a loan with option to buy as a short term fix. We’re going to need to move on Dubravka and Vlachodimos at some stage and this allows us to do that now. Once we get a new Sporting Director in place we can start to plan for next summer and getting a long term transfer strategy in place
