Arsenal vs. Newcastle United: 18/05/25 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)
PauloGeordio replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
We are Newcastle, we are United -
Nah. Man Utd and Spurs are an absolute joke
-
I think the playing out from GK and some pace at CB are the only areas where we've significantly been weaker than the rest of the top 7 this season. Add those two things to what we already have, plus the RW and squad depth, and fuck me, we could win the thing next year.
-
They haven’t posted any training photos, have they?
-
Delicious!
-
I love people getting irrationally annoyed by this shit. we are Newcastle. Nobody calls us United.
-
100%. I totally appreciate the difference a top keeper would make. But it doesn't give you the same buzz as a sexy new right winger or a top class up-and-coming striker
-
Feel like Spurs are the most likely to field a minging line-up tonight. Man Utd probably just about have enough to depth to rest a couple of those available and still have a semi-decent team out. Don’t think that’s the case with Spurs.
-
In training photos today? At least based on the club's instagram post.

it looks a mess. It’s a stramash of shite -
At least one of Villa or Chelsea are dropping points tonight!
-
Looks amazing on the YT reels tbh, just what we need.
-
I’d love to get him now because he seems like he’s Arteta’s number 1 target, so worth it just for the Arsenal Fan TV fume. Plus it would probably be our first flex of us being seen as equals to other top 5 teams in the market, rather than not in the running for players like this.
-
I was really excited by Dubravka because we so desperately needed a better keeper and he looked mad on YouTube. The squad situation isn't as stark now, but I've definitely got a new appreciation on the gains to be had from a goalie upgrade. So a Spaniard who leaps between the posts like a puma would be pretty sockblowyoffy tbh.
-
Argie? No good at Newcastle, I'm afraid, the Brazilian lads would smash him up.
-
I think I would be now like. I wasn't when we got Pope, but once I saw him play the difference having him vs Dubravka was night and day. A top 'keeper is a massive difference maker.
-
Perrone that Man City are about to sell to Como for £25m - is that the same player we tried to sign and City pinched him at the end?
-
The intelligence and game management he has at times is magnificent. Tends to calm things down, but in a typical Italian way, knows when/how to be a bastard too. Love the lad.

Dunno why but I feel like at least one result will go our way this weekend. If we say there's a small 20% chance of us beating arsenal, a 20% chance of man u drawing or beating Chelsea, and a 20% chance of spurs drawing or beating villa. Individually those are all unlikely to go our way but collectively there's a 50% chance (if my maths is right) of at least one of those things happening and just one of those would be huge. -
I don't think we need one badly but I'd like us to sign someone like this to give us something else tactically. Plus those types of players are often just good to watch.
-
What is absolutely insane is that a spurs and Man Utd double is over 50s. £20 on that and it comes in would be a pretty lovely day. Of course I’ve lumped on the Chelsea Villa double to ensure it doesn’t happen
-
I think it’s exciting to have change in such a big position. Not at all easy to upgrade on Pope though.
- Today
-
Not sure if its been said but they've had a major ticketing error where anyone could go on and buy tickets, so theres a good chance some season 'card' holders miss out.
-
I’m excited. A better goalkeeper quite directly can turn draws into wins and losses into draws, hence cementing us as a team competing for CL qualification regularly.
