Coronavirus in football

Everyone knows they were by far the best team, don’t have a problem giving them the title. Not sure it matters that much, they know they won it.

Nothing's been decided and it would be wrong to do so based on the balance of probabilities. Everyone knows they've virtually sewn the league up but it's setting a dangerous precedent if you decide things before they've actually happened. Where do you stop? Relegate the bottom 3? Award CL for the top 4? Who goes into the EL? With a quarter of a season to go? Is nothing going to change with regards to the league table? What about prize money? If you've already played all of the better teams you'll probably finish higher? It's a huge can of worms predicting what you think would probably have happened and it should be ruled out imo.

Liverpool's title is tarnished no matter what because of this. Fans of other clubs will be slagging them off saying its not legit and will never concede that they deserved it no matter how many points clear they are. Honestly their quest to get a proper Premier League title has been laughable. Gerard's slip, last seasons points tally and now this pandemic when they were 25 points clear. Fucking hilarious.

The obvious solution to all this nonsense is, Liverpool champs, no relegations in any league, followed by only promotions. The following season reduce number of promotions, increase the relegation pro rota thus by the end of the 20/21 season the books will be balanced.

Is the Bundesliga still set to go ahead this weekend?

No, they've set a new date for government discussions. Should it be given a go-ahead it would be in line with a broader easing of restrictions. Would be later in May at the earliest.

This is probably the fairest solution if the season gets voided. Clubs in promotion positions won't have lost out, and the teams in relegation positions won't have reason to whinge. Plus Liverpool get their title. Next season will be a bit of a cram, but so will this season if they try and shoehorm the games in now.

The big rider of course is the money from the tv companies. Why would they pay out when there is no football on tv? So I guess the clubs will have to lose some revenue. Well tough, you can't have it both ways.

Nah, void the season, deny Liverpool the title, bonus points for the Leeds scum not getting promoted.  We laugh at them and get a few new classics out of RAWK to keep us entertained while there's no football, everyone's a winner.

Always been an advocate of finishing the season, whenever that may be. But I think the longer this drags on, the fact our government seem to have no clue how to deal with the virus and some of the ludicrous ideas being suggested. I think it should be finished on PPG. Unless they can get something a bit more reasonable agreed ASAP.

I just can’t really see how that is possible, when we’re still currently recording 4000 plus cases every day.

The Germans have been so far ahead of the rest of Europe since the Covid pandemic began, that they can now start to reap the rewards and no doubt get their economy and in this case football back up and running much quickly than the others. Presumably teams will play the games in their own empty stadiums and they will work on stopping fans congregating outside. Not easy. Somehow the PL is going to have to do the same as playing at neutral grounds is likely to be vetoed by the teams at the bottom who are worried about relegation. Imagine us with new owners or Liverpool as they play to win the league and the amount of supporter idiots who will be outside the stadiums. Not easy or maybe downright impossible.
