NUFC Transfer Rumours

This shitshow is certainly on PIF but there is a massive misconception on here on what PIF is and how they operate.

They are a sovereign wealth fund and an investor. They would not ordinarily get involved in any day to day running of the private assets that they own. Similar in many ways to a pension fund in the UK.

However, they do of course have the responsibility of establishing a sound management structure to run the club and this appears to be a shambles since Stavely left. No permanent CEO for the best part of a year is unforgivable and then we have the mess of Ashworth/Mitchell etc.

I have no idea how PIF can effectively delegate under the current structure.

Brilliant points. They've made a mess of the appointments but made them in good faith. They're probably equally pissed at themselves and the people they hired for lack of results.

The context of the first two paragraphs is key.

Definitely feels like there has been a concerted effort from all angles in the media to undermine us.

I’m really surprised they haven’t started linking Tonali away in a big way.

Fab and Ornstein are effectively client journalist at this point.

They either get paid to put info out, or put info out for engagement, so it becomes very easy for clubs and agents to create a narrative.

It's become obvious we don't do this, so the narrative will always run against us.

You'd have liked to think someone like Hope would try to spin some positivity but nah, thrives on the negative. It's been Edwards if anyone who has tried to put positive stuff out.

As is Bein Jacobs.

Would be a bad look giving Wolves 60 million for Strand Larsen, but genuinely think he’s our best option at this point if Isak is away.

At this point we need to accept that Isak is probably away and we can’t replace him with anybody near his ability.

The route here for me would be to try and get a game changer in midfield. Not sure who that would be, but someone to raise the level and perhaps replace Joelinton in starting 11.

With Isak we had a difference maker that compensated for the lack of creativity in midfield at times, we need someone now to provide that spark and I don’t think that is coming in the form of a new striker.

Strand Larsen won’t be an option, Wolves aren’t going to sell us the guy their attack is built around in mid August.

Unlikely, but where desperate and their Chinese owners don’t seem as interested these days if we offer them a big quick profit.

Strand  Larsen is barely worth 10. We would look like complete.gimps offering 60 for him.

Let's spend 2 weeks monitoring him anyway. You never know.

Absolute bullshit. Strand Larsen is a very good relatively young striker who scored 14 goals in his PL season. He’s comfortably a £35m-£45m player in today’s market.

Have you seen the quality of players Sunderland have been spending £20m+ on?

Im not saying he’s the solution or a replacement for Isak, but as a second choice striker if the Wissa deal doesn’t happen for any reason, it wouldn’t be the worst move.

Wrong he’s a handful and scored goals in an average Wolves team. I’d wager now that he’d score more playing for us than Šeško next season.
