If he's a Wilson replacement that's it. They'll try and reintegrate Isak and look for his long term replacement over the next year, that's what i'm reading into all these reports anyway. Isak is going nowhere and all the current names are Wilson replacements.
Conjo
We're not exactly bargaining from a position of power. We're desperate for a center forward. We're making an offer to a club that has made a solid profit already by selling key players this window. As with us, they don't have another reliable center forward. He just joined them and has a long time left on his contract. Unless we throw unreasonable amounts of money after them its a non-starter. We'll most likely have to do that if we are to buy from any PL club.

The striker market is an even smaller pool with the top end of the market at £70 million to £80 million for young, unproven names. Larsen is a Premier League striker for 14 goals and 4 assists, with his best years in front of him. There's absolutely no way a striker of that pedigree, in this market, with us being in the position of desperation we're in is going on the cheap. You are totally right. For me the problem with Strand Larsen is his overall game.

thomas
can we land anyone? anyone please? just to prove we can do it really. I get we don't want to "buy just to buy". but like going home with a 3 post breakup, you're only doing it for the confidence not forever.
Sibierski
This isn’t a Wilson replacement for £60m Desperation to do this deal is clearly with intention of Isak going to be sold 100% by end of this window. Depressing.

Depressing. I think the plan was for Wilson's replacement to be a young up and coming superstar like Ekitike or Sesko, knowing we would probably have to sell him next summer. Now we just need a striker who can score goals

Sibierski
Just now, Ben said: Is it ? Yes. You don’t spend £60m on someone like Larsen as a rotation option. The talk around Isak is to help us maintain our strength in negotiations for when Liverpool come back and for us not paying over the price (lol) for a striker. But if we’re moving for £60m for Larsen, it’s clear to me that Isak is agreed to be sold by end of window and we’ll try and push for Wissa up to end for £45m. tarie4
I'd rather have Wissa, but this guy's still a good Wilson replacement. He's big, strong, and knows how to score. That's all we need, right? If we can get Isak fired up, those two would be a great duo. Honestly, I don't care how much he costs, I just want someone up front who isn't Gordon and can actually finish the chances we create. I reckon he'd do well here if we sign him.

Kimbo
Our striker targets have all been star players at premier league clubs, Ekitike who we’ve been after for 14 years, and Sesko who everyone wanted because he’s been hyped beyond belief. I can’t get my head around what conversations have been taking place.

joeyt
I don't think Isak will be sold and Larsen isn't going to be banded as the "Isak replacement" by the club even though he effectively will be until Isak gets his head sorted and match fit

Mazzy
We'll see how firm Wolves are in their stance in the next day or so. If they aren't linked with anyone coming in then this is a no go. I'm really surprised we've not gone completely left field with someone from Europe. I guess the problem with that is, it's probably worth spending an extra 10/15M for whoever we sign to be ready to go ASAP rather than having to wait 6 weeks for them to get up to speed.
