£50-60m 😮

We should be in for a loan with obligation for Jackson before we even consider doing this!

Have a feeling he will be a very expensive version of Chris Wood for us!

This lad has scored more in his first season than Jackson has ever managed in a season..

If any striker age 25 or under scores close to 15 goals in the Premier League you're paying upwards of £50 million nowadays.

Wolves were just fortunate they had the obligation clause and fixed price already agreed in their loan deal for Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo to get him for what they did.

The club is prioritising a striker that gets goals in the Premier League because of Isak's head loss and no idea of how soon we will be able to rely on him and that is if he even stays at the club.

Every fee sounds like crackers for a striker who has hit 14-15+ league goals in the PL. For the millionth time, the reason why is because scoring mid teens in the league is shockingly very rare in the league, let alone from open play.

Same expected goals last season as Danny Welbeck fwiw

Just FYI if you take a punt on a player from abroad, chances are that player also hit mid to low teens in a league that many of you will scoff at - it's really honestly not that difficult to comprehend. They will cost far less, but they may struggle to get 10 goals in all comps or they may be the next Isak. That is why you trust the team scouting and making the judgements.

Chris Wood comparisons I don't get it at all.

He's more dominant in the air can actually run aswell.

The state of those replies. I swear Liverpool fans will never forgive us for not selling them Isak 😄😄😄

Our northern journos have made a decent wedge this summer too with this Isak stuff. They must be enjoying it, Keith and Hope especially. Luke has played the villain role well, not only riling up us, but now riling up escousers.

This summer has been a real wake-up call for PIF and the like. They seriously need to step up their game.

In a much worse side and all.

I just don't think they feel comfortable with Jackson's finishing ability in the short term and are looking for someone that takes their chances better already.

Don't think we're expecting anything from Isak for a while even if he stays, and so don't want someone that is so hit and miss in front of goal at the minute.

If £50m is rejected, then please move on. Not worth any more than that.

I don't think I'd be devastated at 60M tbh. It's too much but we need a striker. Whoever we sign is going to be over the odds. We should take it out of Isaks pay.

I'd rather strand Larsen than Jackson. It is weird how every bid we make for a striker is rejected. The only time we get one accepted the cunt is wanted by some other cunt and wants to join the other cunts.

Genuinely starting to feel like a concerted effort to hamper us, an unspoken rule between clubs not pushing the limits of PSR and those that don't have to abide to PSR

Move on to what  in the position we are in, we will be quoted 50m+ for every single striker we ask for. If we're going to have to pay that anyway, may as well pay it for the least bad striker we can feasibly get.

Have to think of this as the modern day, rich man's version of the Chris Wood signing. We are desperate and unfortunately there is a tax for desperation.

I think there's a valid point to be made about our process but it's absolutely a secondary cause. Everything is different if Chelsea can't sign Pedro.

I think we’ve been what we are, which is without an adequate back room structure, but to me it looks we’ve tried pretty hard to improve the team within our needlessly restricted means

From what I’ve seen, he’s average at everything bar being a real unit with little pace or eye for a goal. Not great, he missed a fantastic chance up here last year which could have swayed my opinion on him.

Anyone know what Wolves fans think?

If we were in a financial position like Chelsea or Manure where we could afford to spunk 50 million up the wall for a lower mid-table striker, fine, but we're not. The fee is absolutely fucking crazy.

We have left it to late to prize forwards away from teams without having to overpay. That's the scenario we find ourselves in. howe could look at larsen and think I can work on him and improve his attributes, so lets say 60 million becomes a great deal in years to come.

Let's take a look at the market. £55 million is the benchmark for a winger with any form of productivity.

The striker market is an even smaller pool with the top end of the market at £70 million to £80 million for young, unproven names.

Larsen is a Premier League striker for 14 goals and 4 assists, with his best years in front of him.

There's absolutely no way a striker of that pedigree, in this market, with us being in the position of desperation we're in is going on the cheap.
