AlanSkÃrare
Always open and always wanting the ball. He makes other teams move around with his passing, never a poor decision, never putting his team members in tight spots and also put opposition under pressure quite effectively yesterday. Needs to play every game.
Flip
Watch this guy get moved to the bench. Jonas on the left and a non-working, non-existent 4-4-2 next weekend.

Ally
Watch this guy get moved to the bench. Jonas on the left and a non-working, non-existent 4-4-2 next weekend. That's my worry - Taylor, Jonas and Tiote come back in as default. Anita has looked good every game this season but I fear he is Pardew's "fall guy". Elliottman
Didn't notice him today which was a good sign. I don't know how, he was involved loads. I barely noticed him either and still not convinced about him. Does the whoscored site have stats showing touches, passes etc for individuals? He was very good yesterday, kept thing ticking over nicely.

Pilko
I reckon his lack of height was a positive for the first goal - if that's Sissoko who dumps the Villa player over while trying to nick the goal it's such an obvious free kick.
tmonkey
Why was he even taken off? Tiote came on and the first thing that happened was the Villa midfielders coasting past Cheik and running into acres of space.

alexf
Why was he even taken off? Tiote came on and the first thing that happened was the Villa midfielders coasting past Cheik and running into acres of space. Thought it was the correct decision actually at that point. Tiote is stronger defensively than Anita and that's what we needed at that time just to see out the game. Thought Tiote did ok when he came on and that's a role I'd be happy for him to continue as rather than starting every game.
Mole_Toonfan
I thought bringing Tiote for the last 15 mins was the right move actually and as it goes i thought Tiote did well by his recent shit standards.
Ikon
Best thing that ever happened is Tioté and Jonas getting injured (i know) as he finally gets games and is making the position his own. Sooo happy for him and us. Keep up the good work Vurn.
Jimburst
Very happy this is beginning to work out, I (like many people) have been screaming out for Anita to play to help us keep possession and move the ball around quickly and efficiently. He was always going to be good. Ajax, man.
The College Dropout
Was very decent. Interestingly Tiote made more than half the passes Anita had in about 20 minutes. Pardew isn't one to change a winning formula. I reckon Anita will keep his place.
Jimburst
Tiote also had infinitely more 'heart in the mouth' moments where he's spinning on the ball, being pressured by opposition and has to play a dangerous pass to relieve his own self imposed pressure in those 20 minutes. It's clear to anyone who watches the match that Anitas calm and efficient nature affects us positively in the middle of the pitch.

Disagree completely that Tiote is better defensively, he's just more noticeable because he charges around like a bull. Anita reads the game well and is decent in a tackle as well. r0cafella
We didn't really play through Anita yesterday hence his lack of touches also he pushed forward quite often which I prefer he didn't personally. He does the simple things well and I think with Remy, Ben Arfa, Cabaye & Sissoko playing ahead of him keeping it simple is all we need.
buzza
If Pardew does start with Anita and finishes with Tiote it's a clear sign that he is going out to win games early on and then hold out the win. I would love this to continue!! Don't want Tiote on from the start as watching Anita drop back for the pass from defense and then push the ball into decent position was nice to see. though he complimented both sissoko and cabaye in box to box roles very nicely. Skeletor
I am worried that as soon as Anita makes even a tiny mistake Tiote will be back in the team until suspension/injury.
Benwell Lad
Anita showing his true Dutch passing qualities...Nailed on starter for me. Has to become an "automatic" starter. Does everything Tiote does in the role, but better, and doesn't look like giving the ball away or conceding stupid free kicks. Actually think his prescence could make Tiote a better player and a good back up.
