thomas
Winless on the season. 19th in the table. Squad of mostly no-hopers. "I can't believe we're not getting in a CL calibre manager off the bat" If it's a stabilizing year so be it. I was already prepared to write this motherfucker off in August
xLiaaamx
What a complete fuck up. As I said earlier, not gunna go crazy and say "PCP out" or anything, but I'm not gunna happy clap and pretend its all fine either. They've fucked up big time and now need to address the situation. Just like they had to with Bruce first week after briefing they'd sack him then not doing it.

GavMcEl
as someone said previously on this thread only newcastle can you go from feeling such a high to feeling so low less than 24 hours later. the reason emery got me so excited bar his trophy filled CV, was that he was there perfect candidate to stop us getting cut adrift with the type of football he plays, spend a few bob in January and get us up the table, then after this seasons over building for the future, every confidence emery would've had us in or around the tob 6 and challenging for silverware.... but with howe it just doesn't make any sense, with the run we have between now and January, we could literally be 9-12 points from safety before the transfer window opens.... and say we do stay up do we trust howe with the rebuilding process, he spent a lot of money at bournemouth and that didn't pan out great, the owners have stated they want to be challenging for leagues and Champions leagues within 10 years, there's no way Howe will have us anywhere near the top 8, let alone the title Edited November 3, 2021 by GavMcEl

SUPERTOON
Be interesting to see how they try to spin it if/when Howe is appointed. They have talked about due diligence and the process but no idea how that can take a month and lead to Eddie Howe.
PlymouthGeordie
From Emery to Howe is such a climb down. Is there anyone that thinks this has been handled well up to this point?
AyeDubbleYoo
I don’t mind Howe in isolation. It’s just a much bigger role of the dice. If he does well enough to keep us up I imagine he’ll be replaced. Big opportunity for him to prove he’s good, I guess.

Thomson Mouse
9 minutes ago, Gordyola said: City fan here The days of the Mansour take over were far from dysfunctional, you may be thinking of the loud mouth front man who was very soon dispatched. Mansour published a letter to fans out lining his vision for the club The t/o completed on transfer deadline day and to make a statement we signed Robinho. At the time the squad was in reasonably good shape with Hughes in place which was maintained for a good while. The management of the business was in very good hands with a structure put in place by Taskin Shinawatra, Garry Cooke was the CEO with Brain Marwood as Dof. Cooke had been slowly organizing the club and it was in every department on a sound footing. Mansour appointed "his friend" Khaldoon Al Murbarak as chairman and he is still in place KAM is an international business man, highly experienced in running multi national companies, and it is clear that he had a vision of where he wanted the club to go. In time he brought in ex Barca CEO Ferran Soriano who had a vision for what has become the City Football Group The whole organization is a million miles from when they took over, akin to a corner shop becoming Tesco IMHO I would say that your new owners have a much more difficult job, due to the years of neglect of the previous owner, they need to build a sound base of experienced people, an CEO who has run a football business with the right contacts in football I know you wont agree but they should have backed Bruce asked for some patience from the fans and get a DoF who could then find a new manager I wish the club well and look forward to competing on every front and, hopefully soon lets put the red-shirts firmly in their place Apart from the Bruce stuff stop talking so much sense in here, the knee-jerks are amusing to read
St1pe
I wanted Howe as manager when Bruce/Ashley were here as I believed with our squad of players his style could keep us up. I should still really have the same perspective but going from “Emery will take training on Thursday” to maybe Eddie Howe seems like a kick in the balls.
